Hey guys! Sorry about the absence...I took a break from the scene for the Holiday season, but now I'm all refreshed and ready to go for the new year! And what an AMAZING year it's going to be! I've already got great shows set up for y'all, including a gig at the CMA Music Festival, so I hope to see some faces out there! The album is all wrapped up-- music, designs, artwork, everything-- all that's left is for me to review the entire package and then send out the order. Soon enough I'll have the very first copy in my hands and hopefully get it out to y'all quickly, too! It seriously feels like it's been forever since I've been in the studio, but that's all part of the process. I'm just so excited for y'all to hear the finished product...I really hope you like it!
Well, I'm off to prepare for a gig this Saturday that I completely forgot about...oops! It's in Canton, Texas as Cline's Corner so if any of y'all are out that direction definitely swing on by, I would love to meet you!
Love you guys!! <3
Hey y’all! So a lot of people have been asking me how the photoshoot and video shoot went, so instead of having to explain everything a million times over I thought I would just write a post about it so that everybody knows everything!
Day 1:
This is the day I was scheduled to do my photoshoot. I was really excited about this in particular because it was my first time doing an off site shoot. As fate would have it, it was 30 degrees colder and rainy all day long. I was a little bit worried about that, but we just decided to go on with the plan and see how things turned out. I actually think the pictures will be really cute. They had me on some old, classic trucks and in this cute downtown area. It was really cold but I really enjoyed myself. The photographer, Janae, was an absolute genius. She had so many great ideas and I can’t wait to see what the album design will look like. I ended up only using 2 different outfits because of the weather, but that’s okay because we used the leftover clothes in the video.
Day 2:
I woke up at the crack of dawn to get ready for hair and make-up. It was still really cold outside, but I was too excited to really care. We met the production staff at the main building and then followed them out to where the shoot was going to be. I loved the place that they chose to feature the song…it was on Route 66 at some old, historical filling station. I had to sing the song over and over and over and over. It was really exhausting but SO much fun! And one of the camera guys was so sweet. I didn’t have a jacket and it was about 40 degrees outside so when the cameras weren’t rolling he would give me his jacket to use. I was really blessed to have such a great production staff and I can’t wait for the end production!!!
I had such an incredible time that whole weekend! Thanks to all of y’all I’m getting the chance to live out my dream and I owe you BIG TIME!
So I just realized I hadn't updated this blog in a while. I apologize for that...it's been pretty chaotic for the past few weeks. I've been super busy doing the totally awesome things that a college student does...er, class and homework...and whenever I do have free time I've been hardcore writing songs. I have one that's still in progress right now. It's called "On That Note" and I think it's one of the best songs I've done. Hopefully I'll have it completed and have a video up for it next week.
This week I just have 3 days of classes and then it's off to shoot the music video and album artwork! I'm SO EXCTIED!..and I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous too. This is my first time shooting a video so I have absolutely no idea what to expect. It's definitely going to be a memorable experience. I will for sure be taking pictures to put up next week!
Well, I hope y'all have a SUPERB week :)
Last night I sang at the Wylie Opry. It's always good to get back on that stage...I consider it to be the first place I debuted as a solo artist and that was wayyyy back when I was 15. Dang I'm gettin' old. haha But anyway, last night was SO much fun! The talent performing was exceptional...probably one of the best nights, in my opinion. It was also the night that I told everybody I signed with TMG Records. They were all so happy for me and I got so many comments saying that they can say that "they knew me when..." haha But, the highlight of the night was probably meeting these 4 little girls. They were sitting behind me in the audience and after I sang they went and bought one of my demo CDs from up front. It was so cute because they came and tracked me down during intermission and asked me to sign their CD. The best part was as I was signing it they started to completely freak out...I pretty much felt like I was Taylor Swift. It really made me feel special and I honestly hope that I can become a rolemodel for other young girls like them. Since they were pretty much my first encounter with "fangirls" I took a picture with them after the show. I wish I could thank them for giving me a little encouragement without even knowing it. :)
I thought a great way to start of this blog would be to just spill every little fact of randomness about me, so, here it goes. My favorite color's pink. I'm very indecisive. I have a bad habit of biting my nails. I'm that crazy person you see at a stop light totally rocking out in the car. Snowcones are the best. So are rootbeer floats. I can devour a whole basket of fried pickles if you let me. State Fair food makes me fat and happy. I love wearing boots and sundresses. I get really nervous before I go onstage so I say a little prayer and sing a little bit of my favorite song (at the moment) to pump me up. I really do still miss my high school choir. I deathly afraid of the dark and heights. You will never be able to get me on a rollercoaster. I love glitter and sparkles...anything shiny. Heels are my best friend and my worst enemy. I grow my hair out every year and then cut it off and donate it to Locks of Love. I want to move to Brentwood, Tennessee when I graduate college. I wish I collected snowglobes or key chains. I listen to classical music while I study because it makes me feel smart. I love to bake but I feel like I always burn something. My friends are the loves of my life. My family means the world to me. God will always be my main man! :)
